Established in 1964, Berrill Kiernan & Associates is a progressive accountancy and advisory firm in Ireland’s North East.
Our offices are located in the heart of Drogheda town, Co. Louth, 30 minutes from Dublin Airport.
A dynamic professional services firm, we offer a range of services including audit & assurance services, taxation services, corporate and accounting services.
Our team work closely with our clients to understand their objectives and assist them in effectively achieving these objectives with maximum benefit for their business.

Our Team
Aidan Berrill
Partner FCPA
Aidan is a fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland and trained in the firm, becoming a Partner in the early 1990s.
Aidan has extensive experience in a large cross section of clients from farming, construction, professional and the Credit Union sectors. He has responsibility for auditing in the firm, particularly in the SME industry and believes this aspect of our service should add value to our clients.
He has a long history of Credit Union involvement and has a wealth of experience in external and internal audit services required in the current legislative environment.
James Kiernan
Partner
James is a Partner in the firm and stepped into his father’s shoes in the 1990s, his father being a founder member of the firm back in 1964.
James has a vast amount of experience in a diverse range of clients from farming, legal and professional and the licensed trade.
He provides extensive advice in all tax matters ranging from Income, Corporation, Capital Gains and Capital Acquisitions taxes, as well as Value Added Tax.
With a wealth of experience in the SME sector, James also is adept in financial planning and corporate re-structuring leading to wealth management for business owners. He can offer his wide and varied experience and practical business advice to clients to enable them make astute business decisions.
Ashwini Hegde
Audit Assistant MBA
With an MBA in Finance, Ashwini exhibits proficiency in accounts preparation for companies and sole traders, managing VAT/PAYE returns, and conducting careful and thorough audits for small and medium-sized businesses. Ashwini’s experience as an Audit Associate at KPMG, specializing in Investment Management portfolios, enhanced her auditing skills.
Ashwini joined Berrill Kiernan and Associates as an Audit Assistant in April 2022, and is committed to ensuring financial excellence and compliance, contributing to the firm's growth and success.
Lisa McGovern
Administration
Lisa joined the firm in 1994 and as administrator has built up much experience in secretarial and management for our corporate clients. The management of filing returns and maintenance of corporate records is now her forte.
Lisa has a wealth of knowledge in corporate secretarial matters and can assist clients with their annual regulatory commitments.
Paul Berrill
Associate MBS ACA
Paul is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and graduated from DCU with a Masters in Accounting in 2010.
Paul trained in the Consumer and Technology Business Audit Department of Deloitte where he gained experience across a myriad of different sectors, including technology, manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceutical and retail.
Paul also holds a Diploma in Taxation, awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Paul joined Berrill Kiernan & Associates in 2019.
Estée Bekker
Accountant CPA SA BComm
Estée is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland as well as the South African Institute of Professional Accountants.
She holds a bachelor's degree, majoring in Cost and Management Accounting, and a post-graduate diploma. Her field of focus includes compilation of annual financial statements, monthly management reports, VAT, and employment taxes.
She completed her studies and training in South Africa and relocated to Ireland with her family at the end of 2022.
Estée joined the firm in early 2023.
